ACP5‐positive macrophages contribute to cerebral oedema and neuroinflammation after traumatic brain injury

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 9, September 2026.
Integrated transcriptomic analyses identified an ACP5‐positive monocyte/macrophage population enriched in the injured brain within 1–3 days after traumatic brain injury (TBI). Pharmacological and genetic targeting of ACP5 attenuated cerebral oedema and neuroinflammation, preserved blood–brain barrier integrity, and improved long‐term cognitive outcomes.

Comprehensive analysis of the expression of sodium/potassium-ATPase α subunits and prognosis of ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma

open access: yesCancer Cell International, 2020
Background Ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma (OSC) is the most common and lethal gynecological cancer in women worldwide; however, biomarkers to diagnose and predict prognosis of OSC remain limited.

Migraine: Epidemiology, Risk Factors, Pathophysiology, and Treatment

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 9, September 2026.
Migraine is a highly prevalent, female‐predominant, and disabling brain disorder shaped by genetic susceptibility, hormonal influences, modifiable attack factors, and comorbidity‐related progression. This review integrates current evidence on migraine epidemiology, phase‐specific neurovascular and neuroglial mechanisms, including CGRP signaling and ...

Identification of Novel Fibrosis Modifiers by In Vivo siRNA Silencing

open access: yesMolecular Therapy: Nucleic Acids, 2017
Fibrotic diseases contribute to 45% of deaths in the industrialized world, and therefore a better understanding of the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying tissue fibrosis is sorely needed.

Transitioning from Transcriptomics to Proteomics: Enhancing Mechanistic Accuracy in PBPK Modeling via Absolute Protein Abundances

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, Volume 15, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Reliable physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling depends on tissue‐specific expression profiles that reflect protein activities governing drug disposition. In PK‐Sim, existing expression databases rely on transcriptomics data. However, mRNA levels often exhibit limited correlation with protein abundance, frequently necessitating ...

Integrative Phosphoproteomic Profiling Reveals Stage‐Specific Signalling and Metabolism in Equine Melanocytic Neoplasm

open access: yesVeterinary and Comparative Oncology, Volume 24, Issue 3, Page 468-484, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Equine melanocytic neoplasms (EMN) are aggressive tumours characterised by high metastatic potential and limited therapeutic options available. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying their progression remain poorly understood. This study therefore presents the integrative phosphoproteomic analysis of EMN tissue, with the aim of ...

Familial basilar migraine associated with a new mutation in the ATP1A2 gene

open access: yes, 2005
peer reviewedBasilar migraine (BM), familial hemiplegic migraine (FHM), and sporadic hemiplegic migraine (SHM) are phenotypically similar subtypes of migraine with aura, differentiated only by motor symptoms, which are absent in BM.

A translational multimodal machine‐learning prototype predicting valproate response in epilepsy treatment

open access: yesEpilepsia, Volume 67, Issue 8, Page 4037-4050, August 2026.
Abstract Objective Epilepsy affects ~1% of the global population and often requires lifelong antiseizure medication (ASM) therapy. Valproic acid (VPA) is a commonly prescribed first‐line ASM, yet only approximately half of patients achieve sustained seizure freedom. Treatment selection remains largely empirical.
