Polarization of Human Macrophages by Interleukin-4 Does Not Require ATP-Citrate Lyase
Macrophages exposed to the Th2 cytokines interleukin (IL) IL-4 and IL-13 exhibit a distinct transcriptional response, commonly referred to as M2 polarization.

Potential therapeutic use of the ketogenic diet in autism spectrum disorders. [PDF]
The ketogenic diet (KGD) has been recognized as an effective treatment for individuals with glucose transporter 1 (GLUT1) and pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH) deficiencies as well as with epilepsy.

Plastid Engineering for Photosynthesis‐Driven Synthesis of Hyaluronic Acid in Tobacco
ABSTRACT Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a glycosaminoglycan composed of alternating units of N‐acetylglucosamine and glucuronic acid. High moisture retention, viscoelasticity and biocompatibility are unique features that make HA polymers attractive compounds for medical applications and aesthetic purposes.

ACLY is the novel signaling target of PIP2/PIP3 and Lyn in acute myeloid leukemia
A fundamental feature of tumor progression is reprogramming of metabolic pathways. ATP citrate lyase (ACLY) is a key metabolic enzyme that catalyzes the generation of Acetyl-CoA and is upregulated in cancer cells and required for their growth.

Electron transport phosphorylation in rumen butyrivibrios: unprecedented ATP yield for glucose fermentation to butyrate. [PDF]
From a genomic analysis of rumen butyrivibrios (Butyrivibrio and Pseudobutyrivibrio sp.), we have re-evaluated the contribution of electron transport phosphorylation (ETP) to ATP formation in this group.

Molecular biology of ATP citrate lyase
The full length Arabidopsis ACL-A1 and ACL-B2 cDNAs have been expressed in E. coli. Western blot analysis of Arabidopsis extracts, probed with antiserum raised against these proteins, indicate that At.ACL-Al and At.ACL-B2 cDNAs code for proteins of 45 kDa and 65 kDa, respectively.

ABSTRACT Base excision repair (BER) is a critical pathway for repairing damaged DNA bases in cells; however, the mechanisms of protein recruitment and interaction in this pathway remain largely unexplored in higher plants. In this study, we used ‘84K’ poplar (Populus alba × P.

ATP citrate lyase in human adipose tissue.
ATP citrate lyase [EC. 4.1.3.8] activity in human adipose tissue was assayed. The activity was considerably higher in tissue from patients who had been supplied with nutrients only by intravenous injection than that from patients who had orally taken a meal and then fasted overnight.

ABSTRACT Isoflavones, secondary metabolites with numerous health benefits, are predominantly found in legume seeds, especially soybean; however, their contents in domesticated soybean seeds are highly variable. Wild soybeans are known for higher seed isoflavone contents than cultivars. Here we used experimental and modelling approaches on wild soybean (
