Suppression of Atrial Fibrillation by Atrial Pacing
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common arrhythmia in patients with an implanted pacemaker, but the role of atrial pacing in preventing AF is still unclear.Sixty-six patients (67.8+/-12.1 years) were enrolled: 54 with sick sinus syndrome (SSS), 11 with atrioventricular blocks (AVB), and 1 with SSS and AVB. The prevalence of AF was investigated.

Structural Polymorphism of polyG Inclusions Revealed by In Situ Cryo‐Electron Tomography
Correlative cryo‐electron tomography in primary cortical neurons and NIID mouse brain tissue reveals that polyG inclusions are interconnected ribbon‐like assemblies rather than canonical amyloid fibrils. Multiple compartment‐specific ribbon states show distinct 26S proteasome accessibility, while cytoplasmic ribbons contact and deform ER‐like ...

CA9‐targeted PET imaging could be a noninvasive approach to characterize clear cell renal cell carcinoma and associated tumor biology. PET uptake correlates with tumor CA9 expression and is linked to angiogenic activity, immune remodeling, and metabolic reprogramming.

ABSTRACT Atrial fibrillation (AF) increases the risk of stroke and heart failure, yet accurate quantification of AF burden in daily life remains difficult. Although smartwatch photoplethysmography (PPG) supports continuous monitoring, complex rhythms and signal noise can impair burden estimation.

Systemic platelet factor 4 (PF4) is significantly depleted in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Peripheral PF4 replenishment restores central proteostasis by driving OPTN‐dependent, PINK1‐independent selective autophagy in motor neurons. This intervention effectively clears toxic SOD1 aggregates, blunts glial activation, and preserves neuromuscular ...

Embryonic amoxicillin exposure disrupts multi‐organ development in zebrafish larvae through a lncRNA–metabolic enzyme regulatory axis. PCALRx associates with pyruvate carboxylase, promotes PC protein ubiquitination, and impairs mitochondrial energy metabolism, while vitamin B1 partially restores PC‐centered metabolic function and developmental outcomes.

Atrial Pacing for Prevention of Atrial Fibrillation
The development of atrial pacing for prevention of drug refractory atrial fibrillation was a logical step in the management of this arrhythmia. The electrophysiologic rationale for the efficacy of atrial pacing is based on the reduction of global and local atrial activation times during pacing, which results in reduced dispersion of atrial ...

A Novel Pak1 Activator Ameliorates ER Stress for HFpEF Therapy
Chronic metabolic stress is a major contributor to HFpEF progression. Under prolonged metabolic stress, Pak1 activity becomes impaired, contributing to disrupted ER proteostasis, cardiomyocyte apoptosis, fibrosis, and diastolic dysfunction. Mechanistically, Pak1 overexpression activates the ERK1/2–MNK1–eIF4E signaling axis, promotes translational ...
