Adaptive Nonsingular Terminal Sliding Mode Control for Attitude Tracking of Spacecraft With Actuator Faults

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In this paper, an adaptive nonsingular terminal sliding mode control (ANTSMC) is investigated for attitude tracking of spacecraft with actuator faults. First, a nonsingular fast terminal sliding mode surface is designed to avoid the singularity.

Safety-Aware Optimal Attitude Pointing for Low-Thrust Satellites

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
In geostationary orbit, long eclipses and the seasonal variations in the direction and intensity of the solar input can cause damage to sensitive equipment during attitude maneuvers, which may inadvertently point the equipment towards the Sun.

Magnetic attitude control for satellites [PDF]

open access: yes2004 43rd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC) (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37601), 2004
In this paper it is proven that three-axis stabilization of satellites using magnetorqers is uniformly globally asymptotically stable (UGAS). The application of Matrosovs theorem allows for removal of the assumption that the geomagnetic (internal and external) field is periodic in order to establish this stability result.

Large-Scale Solar-Powered UAV Attitude Control Using Deep Reinforcement Learning in Hardware-in-Loop Verification

open access: yesDrones
Large-scale solar-powered unmanned aerial vehicles possess the capacity to perform long-term missions at different altitudes from near-ground to near-space, and the huge spatial span brings strict disciplines for its attitude control such as aerodynamic ...

Constrained Geometric Attitude Control on SO(3)

open access: yes, 2017
This paper presents a new geometric adaptive control system with state inequality constraints for the attitude dynamics of a rigid body. The control system is designed such that the desired attitude is asymptotically stabilized, while the controlled ...

CONTROLLING ATTITUDES

open access: yesPacific Philosophical Quarterly, 2006
Abstract:  I hope to show that, although belief is subject to two quite robust forms of agency, “believing at will” is impossible; one cannot believe in the way one ordinarily acts. Further, the same is true of intention: although intention is subject to two quite robust forms of agency, the features of belief that render believing less than voluntary ...

Physical Implementation and Experimental Validation of the Compensation Mechanism for a Ramp-Based AUV Recovery System

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
In complex marine environments, ramp-based recovery systems for autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) often encounter engineering challenges such as reduced docking accuracy and success rate due to disturbances in the capture window attitude.
