Polybromides Attraction-Repulsion Regulation Promotes High-Performance Zinc-Bromine Static Battery. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
Br3− attraction‐repulsion regulation enhances the reversibility and reaction kinetics of Zn–Br static batteries. Coin cell shows a high average discharge voltage of 1.73 V and a fast charge/discharge rate up to 32 mA cm−2. Pouch cell with a high areal capacity of 8.3 mAh cm−2 achieves a real capacity of 365 mAh after 100 cycles.

Multipole Engineering of Attractive−Repulsive and Bending Optical Forces [PDF]

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, 2021
Focused laser beams allow controlling the mechanical motion of objects and can serve as a tool for assembling micro and nanostructures in space. While small particles mainly experience attractive gradient forces and repulsive radiation pressure, introducing additional flexibility suggests approaching new capabilities. Herein, optical forces acting on a

Attraction-Repulsion Spectrum in Neighbor Embeddings

open access: yesJ. Mach. Learn. Res., 2020
Neighbor embeddings are a family of methods for visualizing complex high-dimensional datasets using $k$NN graphs. To find the low-dimensional embedding, these algorithms combine an attractive force between neighboring pairs of points with a repulsive force between all points. One of the most popular examples of such algorithms is t-SNE.

Small-angle attraction in the tilt illusion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
The tilt illusion (TI) describes the phenomenon in which a surround inducer grating of a particular orientation influences the perceived orientation of a central test grating.

Attraction and Repulsion: Unsupervised Domain Adaptive Graph Contrastive Learning Network

open access: yes, 2022
Graph convolutional networks (GCNs) are important techniques for analytics tasks related to graph data. To date, most GCNs are designed for a single graph domain. They are incapable of transferring knowledge from/to different domains (graphs), due to the

Casimir attractive-repulsive transition in MEMS [PDF]

open access: yesThe European Physical Journal B, 2012
Unwanted stiction in micro- and nanomechanical (NEMS/MEMS) systems due to dispersion (van der Waals, or Casimir) forces is a significant hurdle in the fabrication of systems with moving parts on these length scales. Introducing a suitably dielectric liquid in the interspace between bodies has previously been demonstrated to render dispersion forces ...

Self-stabilized Bose polarons

open access: yesSciPost Physics, 2022
The mobile impurity in a Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) is a paradigmatic many-body problem. For weak interaction between the impurity and the BEC, the impurity deforms the BEC only slightly and it is well described within the Fröhlich model and the ...
