Attraction-Repulsion clustering with applications to fairness
We consider the problem of diversity enhancing clustering, i.e, developing clustering methods which produce clusters that favour diversity with respect to a set of protected attributes such as race, sex, age, etc. In the context of fair clustering, diversity plays a major role when fairness is understood as demographic parity.

Excluded volume repulsion and dipole–dipole interaction influenced the solution behavior of Fp-based (Fp = (C5H5)Fe(CO)2) macrocycles, P(PFpR)n. The macrocycles were large in the excluded volume and dipole moments, which was caused by the stiffness of

Global minimisers for anisotropic attractive–repulsive interactions
We prove the existence of global minimisers for a class of attractive–repulsive interaction potentials that are in general not radially symmetric. The global minimisers have compact support. For potentials including degenerate power-law diffusion, the interaction potential can be unbounded from below.

The Effects of Segmentation and Spatial Geometry on the Tilt Illusion
In the tilt illusion, when the orientation of the center and surround gratings differ by a small angle, the center grating appears to tilt away from the surround orientation (repulsion); however, for a large difference in angle, the center appears to ...

Analysis of Cattle Social Transitional Behaviour: Attraction and Repulsion
Understanding social interactions in livestock groups could improve management practices, but this can be difficult and time-consuming using traditional methods of live observations and video recordings.

Effect of electric interaction on the deflection and gravitational lensing in the strong field limit
The deflection angle $$\Delta \phi $$ Δ ϕ of charged signals in general charged spacetime in the strong deflection limit is analyzed in this work using a perturbative method generalized from the neutral signal case.

The Holy See and Fyodor Dostoevsky: Mutual Attraction and Repulsion
The article analyzes the attitude of Fyodor Dostoevsky toward the Roman Catholic Church. The author shows how Dostoevsky comes to the Slavophile idea of unity and the impossibility of salvation outside church communion, while speaking of the Church as an

Emergent dynamics in delayed attractive-repulsively coupled networks [PDF]
We investigate different emergent dynamics, namely, oscillation quenching and revival of oscillation, in a global network of identical oscillators coupled with diffusive (positive) delay coupling as it is perturbed by symmetry breaking localized repulsive delayed interaction.

Attractive and repulsive Yang-Mills–Higgs magnetic monopoles on IR3
An SO(3)-gauged Higgs model on IR3 is proposed that, like the Abelian Higgs model on IR2, features both attractive and repulsive phases, though unlike the latter its solutions do not saturate the topological lower bound.
