Incidence of nonextensive thermodynamics in temporal scaling at Feigenbaum points

open access: yes, 2006
Recently, in Phys. Rev. Lett. 95, 140601 (2005), P. Grassberger addresses the interesting issue of the applicability of q-statistics to the renowned Feigenbaum attractor.

In vitro properties of patient serum predict clinical outcome after high dose rate brachytherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Following high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR‐BT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), patients were classified as responders and nonresponders. Post‐therapy serum induced increased BrdU incorporation and Cyclin E expression of Huh7 and HepG2 cells in nonresponders, but decreased levels in responders.

The random case of Conley's theorem

open access: yes, 2005
The well-known Conley's theorem states that the complement of chain recurrent set equals the union of all connecting orbits of the flow $\phi$ on the compact metric space $X$, i.e.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Generalized Attractors in Five-Dimensional Gauged Supergravity

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper we study generalized attractors in N=2 gauged supergravity theory in five dimensions coupled to arbitrary number of hyper, vector and tensor multiplets. We look for attractor solutions with constant anholonomy coefficients. By analyzing the

Chaotic characteristics and attractor evolution of friction noise during friction process

open access: yes, 2018
Friction experiments are conducted on a ring-on-disk tribometer, and friction noise produced during the friction process is extracted by a microphone.

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Global attractors of evolutionary systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
An abstract framework for studying the asymptotic behavior of a dissipative evolutionary system $\mathcal{E}$ with respect to weak and strong topologies was introduced in [8] primarily to study the long-time behavior of the 3D Navier-Stokes equations ...
