Stabilizer Reaction and Consumption in Nitrocellulose Containing Substances—Parametric Versus Mechanistic Descriptions and Modeling

Substances based on nitrocellulose (NC) must be protected against autocatalytic decomposition of NC by stabilizers. To model stabilizer consumption correctly, the production of NOx by NC must be regarded and the bimolecular reaction between NOx and stabilizer must be included.

Reacting the Free Radicals ClO2 and [O3]–: One‐Electron Transfer Instead of Bond Formation

In the reaction of ClO2 and KO3 in liquid ammonia, [NH4][ClO2] was formed as identified by X‐ray diffraction. These results clearly indicate that a one‐electron transfer accompanied by oxidation of [O3]− took place instead of the expected radical coupling. They also suggest that the reduction potential of chlorine dioxide exceeds that of ozone.

Gasdermin‐Mediated Pyroptosis: Novel Strategies Against Colorectal Cancer

Pyroptosis is a double‐edged sword in colorectal cancer (CRC): chronic low‐grade pyroptosis promotes tumor progression, whereas acute induction of pyroptosis in cancer cells triggers antitumor immunity and enhances therapeutic response. Targeting gasdermin‐mediated pyroptosis represents a promising strategy for CRC treatment.

NbRD21 protease controls receptor kinase homeostasis in Nicotiana benthamiana

Proteomic analysis revealed that receptor kinases (red) accumulate higher in rd21 knockout Nicotiana benthamiana plants. Summary RD21‐like proteases are papain‐like cysteine proteases with a C‐terminal granulin domain that are abundant and ubiquitous in angiosperms and have often been implicated in immunity.
