Automatic carrier landing system utilizing aircraft sensors
Journal of Guidance, Control, and Dynamics, 1993A new closed-loop control system is developed and evaluated for use in automatic carrier landings. The system is based on a new tracking filter that uses angle of attack and airspeed measurements from the airplane, in addition to the usual ship-based radar measurements.

The top-level design study for the automatic carrier landing system
2016 IEEE Chinese Guidance, Navigation and Control Conference (CGNCC), 2016This paper focused on the top-level design of the automatic carrier landing system. The carrier platform and carrier-based aircraft landing technology in China have been mature and stable now, in this case, to develop the automatic carrier landing system and to put it into use will greatly enhance the operational capability of the aircraft carrier.

ABSTRACT The automatic carrier landing system (ACLS) is an indispensable component of modern aircraft carriers, and it can be considered a special cyber-physical system. However, the disturbance of the carrier air-wake in the final approach is detrimental to the landing safety and complicates the design of the ACLS.

Abstract This paper proposes an active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) scheme for automatic carrier landing system (ACLS) in final approach. To track desired touchdown point (DTP) altitude in the presence of carrier air wake turbulence and deck motion, based on the estimation and compensation of internal dynamics and external disturbances by ...
