Control parameter design for automatic carrier landing system via pigeon-inspired optimization

In this paper, a novel control parameter design method is presented for the automatic carrier landing system. To overcome difficulties in the manual parameter adjustment task, the pigeon-inspired optimization algorithm is utilized by converting the parameter design problem to an optimization problem.

Longitudinal automatic carrier landing system guidance law using model predictive control with an additional landing risk term

The author describes the development and simulation of a fuzzy logic automatic carrier landing system (FACLS) for the F/A-18 aircraft. The FACLS controls the three-dimensional flight path, speed, sink rate, and angular attitudes to allow a safe shipboard landing.
