The present concept of automatic carrier landings, Mode I operational capability, as employed in Navy carrier-based aircraft, was investigated. The aircraft chosen for study was the A-7E. The A-7E All Weather Carrier Landing System (AWCLS) and the carrier landing environment including burble effects and deck motion were simulated.
