A Vessel Position Precision Analysis Based on a Two-Star Combined Approach

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
Traditional celestial navigation mainly utilized the sextant to measure the attitude and the position contour method to calculate and resolve the vessel’s positioning problem, but these methods are not rigorous, having major deficiencies in the ...

PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Bayesian learning from multi-way EEG feedback for robot navigation and target identification

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Many brain-computer interfaces require a high mental workload. Recent research has shown that this could be greatly alleviated through machine learning, inferring user intentions via reactive brain responses.

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Bayesian inference for stochastic individual-based models of ecological systems: a pest control simulation study

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science, 2015
Mathematical models are of fundamental importance in the understanding of complex population dynamics. For instance, they can be used to predict the population evolution starting from different initial conditions or to test how a system responds to ...
