Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Automatic urban area monitoring using digital surface models and shape features
Accurate monitoring of urban areas using remote sensing data requires reliable change detection techniques. Nevertheless, while most of the changes are optically visible and easily detectable by an expert user, automatic processes are quite difficult to

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Automatic Detection and Removal of Spiked Points in Hyperspectral Images
This paper presents an approach to eliminate one of the most common defects in hyperspectral images—the appearance of spiked points at some wavelengths. The elimination of this defect was carried out by means of polynomial regression.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Using Dynamic Features for Automatic Cervical Precancer Detection
Cervical cancer remains a major public health concern in developing countries due to financial and human resource constraints. Visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA) of the cervix was widely promoted and routinely used as a low-cost primary screening ...

Automatic detection of interaction groups [PDF]
This paper addresses the problem of detecting interaction groups in an intelligent environment. To understand human activity, we need to identify human actors and their interpersonal links. An interaction group can be seen as basic entity, within which individuals collaborate in order to achieve a common goal.
