ROC‐325 Attenuates Hypoxia‐Induced Pulmonary Hypertension Through Dual Inhibition of Autophagy and Hypoxia‐Inducible Factor 2α Signaling

open access: yesMedComm – Future Medicine, Volume 5, Issue 1, March 2026.
In hypoxia‐induced pulmonary hypertension, endothelial HIF‐2α accumulation and autophagic activation drive vascular remodeling. We demonstrate that the novel lysosomal inhibitor ROC‐325 simultaneously attenuates this pathogenic autophagy and promotes HIF‐2α degradation.

Aging‐Derived Alterations in Genomic, Immune, and Metabolic Networks: Implications for Cancer Development and Therapy

open access: yesMedComm – Oncology, Volume 5, Issue 1, March 2026.
Ageing acts as a double‐edged sword in cancer. In the elderly, open chromatin, immunosenescence, and chronic inflammation drive SASP (IL‐6, MMPs), MDSC accumulation and T‐cell suppression, fostering tumor‐promoting microenvironments and limited therapeutic benefit.

Secretory autophagy and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in cadaveric AMD samples: Novel pathways in disease progression

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, Volume 104, Issue 2, Page 239-251, March 2026.
Abstract Purpose To examine the presence of secretory autophagy and epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) in the macular retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) of human cadaver eyes with different forms of age‐related macular degeneration (AMD). Methods Human cadaver macula samples representing dry and wet AMD, as well as age‐matched controls, were ...

Beyond diabetes and obesity: GLP‐1 receptor agonists in disrupting the vicious cycle of metabolic dysfunction and neuroinflammation

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 3, Page 1622-1637, March 2026.
Abstract Neurodegenerative diseases, including debilitating conditions like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, are characterized by progressive neuronal loss, a process fundamentally driven by persistent chronic neuroinflammation and central metabolic dysfunction.

Tui Na Acupressure Modulates Treg Immunosuppression via FoxP3/mTORC1 Signalling in ALS Mice

open access: yesImmunology, Volume 177, Issue 3, Page 481-500, March 2026.
The proposed mechanism by which Tui Na acupressure improves motor and cognitive dysfunction in ALS mice by activating the FoxP3/mTORC1 pathway. ABSTRACT Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a neurodegenerative disease driven by neuroinflammation, where regulatory T cell (Treg) dysfunction exacerbates immune imbalance.
