Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Diversification's effect on firm value
We estimate diversification's effect on firm value by imputing stand-alone values for individual business segments. Comparing the sum of these stand-alone values to the firm's actual value implies a 13% to 15% average value loss from diversification ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Numerically Efficient Average-Value Model for Voltage-Source Converters in Nodal-Based Programs
Discrete detailed models of high-frequency switching voltage source converters (VSCs) are accurate but computationally expensive in simulations of large power-electronics-based systems.

DAMPAK PEMECAHAN SAHAM TERHADAP PERUBAHAN PENGEMBALIAN SAHAM PADA PERUSAHAAN YANG GO PUBLIK DI BURSA EFEK INDONESIA [PDF]
Policy of stock split is the issuer company's efforts to keep the stock remains in the optimal trading range by increasing the number of shares. An information content test is required to see the reaction of a stock split announcement. This study aims to

Average persistence in random walks
We study the first passage time properties of an integrated Brownian curve both in homogeneous and disordered environments. In a disordered medium we relate the scaling properties of this center of mass persistence of a random walker to the average ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Loop-closure events during protein folding: Rationalizing the shape of Phi-value distributions
In the past years, the folding kinetics of many small single-domain proteins has been characterized by mutational Phi-value analysis. In this article, a simple, essentially parameter-free model is introduced which derives folding routes from native ...

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
