Value of tax shields and the risk of the net increase of debt, The. Year 2004 [PDF]

open access: yes
The value of tax shields depends on the nature of the stochastic process of the net increase of debt; it does not depend on the nature of the stochastic process of the free cash flow.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Reply to "The value of tax shields is equal to the present value of tax shields" [PDF]

open access: yes
In a recent paper, Cooper and Nyborg (2004) argue that the results of Fernández (2004) are wrong because value-additivity is violated and because "Fernández paper comes from mixing the Miles-Ezzell leverage policy with the Miller-Modigliani leverage ...

Accurate Average Value Modeling of Synchronous Machine-Rectifier System Considering Stator Resistance

open access: yesIranian Journal of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2009
An accurate average value model of synchronous machine-rectifier system considering the effect of stator resistance is derived in this paper. A proper voltage-behind-reactance synchronous machine model without any approximations is used for the generator

FAIR VALUE ILLUSTRATED IN OMFP 1802/2014 [PDF]

open access: yesChallenges of the Knowledge Society, 2016
The fair value of assets is calculated from the evidence of market data through an assessment by authorized appraisers, according to law. The fair value of tangible assets is calculated based on their market value, based on information that we would use ...

ESTIMASI NILAI AVERAGE VALUE AT RISK PADA SAHAM PORTOFOLIO DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE ANALISIS KOMPONEN UTAMA

open access: yesE-Jurnal Matematika, 2017
There are several methods that can be used to measure the risk of a portfolio of stocks. One of them is Average Value at Risk (AVaR). The purpose of this study is to implement Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to select stocks to be incorporated in the ...

The Value of an Option Based on an Average Security Value [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
In this paper we shall discuss a financial option of which the payoff depends on the average value of the underlying security over some final time interval. After explaining what an option is about we will derive a partial differential equation for the option which is different from the partial differential equation of a simple European call option ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.
