Inequality aversion in income, health, and income-related health.

open access: yesJournal of Health Economics, 2020
Based on a survey of a sample of the general public, we estimate inequality aversion across income, health, and bivariate income-health. Inequality aversion is domain specific: mean inequality aversion is greater for income than for health, but the ...

Hederagenin Attenuates Morphine Addiction via GABAA1‐Mediated Modulation of Ca2+–CaMK–CREB Signaling in Ventral Tegmental Dopaminergic Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hederagenin is identified as a GABAA1‐targeting natural compound that suppresses morphine‐associated reward by restraining Ca2+–CaMK–cAMP–CREB signaling in ventral tegmental dopaminergic neurons. RVG29‐modified liposomal delivery further enhances brain accumulation and behavioral efficacy, providing a mechanistically defined strategy for natural ...

Microcircuit mechanisms through which mediodorsal thalamic input to anterior cingulate cortex exacerbates pain-related aversion.

open access: yesNeuron, 2019
SUMMARY Hyperexcitability of the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) is thought to drive aversion associated with chronic neuropathic pain. Here we studied the contribution of input from mediodorsal thalamus (MD) to ACC, using sciatic nerve injury and ...

Persistent Zn2+ Influx‐Mediated Deacetylation of ANXA2 Regulates the “Zn2+‐Autophagic Flux” and Alleviates Intervertebral Disc Degeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Zinc transporter SLC39A14 sustains intracellular Zn2+ levels to activate SIRT3‑dependent ANXA2 deacetylation at K302. This modification weakens ANXA2‑mTOR binding and releases autophagic‑flux suppression in nucleus pulposus cells. Dysregulated Zn2+ homeostasis disrupts this axis to drive intervertebral disc degeneration.

Effects of wind turbines on area use and behaviour of semi-domestic reindeer in enclosures

open access: yesRangifer, 2004
In recent decades, industrial developments have expanded into reindeer ranges in the arctic and adjacent higher latitudes in search for energy, minerals, timber and other resources.

A Molecularly Defined Midbrain Circuit Mechanism for Sound‐Driven Defensive Behavior and Anxiety

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic diagram showing the Cbln2+ ICx–dPAG circuit for sound‐driven defensive and anxiety‐like behaviors. ABSTRACT The innate defense behaviors in response to threatening sounds play a fundamental role in survival. However, the neural circuits that detect threat‐relevant auditory cues and transform them into defensive behaviors remain poorly defined.

Ethanol Conditioned Taste Aversion in High Drinking in the Dark Mice

open access: yesBrain Sciences, 2019
Two independent lines of High Drinking in the Dark (HDID-1, HDID-2) mice have been bred to reach high blood alcohol levels after a short period of binge-like ethanol drinking.

How Video‐Based Information Affects Farmers' Willingness to Pay for Drone Services

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Professional service for digital technology like agricultural drones lowers transaction costs and scope thresholds for smallholders. Meanwhile, perceptual adoption barriers remain underexplored. We conduct a two‐stage choice experiment with a randomized video‐based information treatment among 384 Chinese crop farmers to measure its effect on ...

The role of dorsal raphe nucleus neuropeptides in reward and aversion

open access: yesFrontiers in Behavioral Neuroscience
The dorsal raphe nucleus is a critical node for affective and motivated circuits in the brain. Though typically known as a serotonergic hub, the dorsal raphe nucleus is also highly enriched in a variety of neuropeptides.

RISK AVERSION BEHAVIOR. RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN RISK AVERSION, PRUDENCE AND CAUTIOUSNESS [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper defines decreasing absolute risk aversion in purely behavioral termswithout any assumption of differentiability and shows that a strictly increasing and riskaverse utility function with decreasing absolute risk aversion is necessarily ...
