Avoidance learning in autoimmune mice
Brain Research, 2000Previous studies have shown that autoimmune mice perform very poorly on active avoidance learning tasks. In the current studies, mice with lupus-like systemic autoimmunity were able to learn active, as well as passive, avoidance protocols with shock as reinforcement.

Noradrenaline and avoidance learning in the rat
Brain Research, 1979The selective neurotoxin 6-hydroxydopamine was used to deplete forebrain noradrenaline to less than 5% of control values and the learning capabilities of the depleted animals examined on a two-way active avoidance task. Noradrenaline depleted animals learned the two-way active avoidance task more quickly than controls and required fewer training trials

AbstractDemocracies are calling on schools to respond to a rise in extremist ideologies and actions. In this article Sigal Ben‐Porath situates the rise in extremism within the broader context of political polarization. Learning coupling terms for obstacle avoidance
2014 IEEE-RAS International Conference on Humanoid Robots, 2014Autonomous manipulation in dynamic environments is important for robots to perform everyday tasks. For this, a manipulator should be capable of interpreting the environment and planning an appropriate movement. At least, two possible approaches exist for this in literature.

Passive avoidance learning in the young rat
Developmental Psychobiology, 1980AbstractA step‐through locomotor passive avoidance task is described requiring the suppression of a spontaneous escape reaction from a cool toward a warm compartment in order to avoid an electric shock delivered in the warm side. We observed no learning of this task at 9 days of age, a very low but significant level of acquisition at 11 days, a slow ...
