Regulating Protein Immobilization During Cell‐Free Protein Synthesis in Hyaluronan Microgels

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Bifunctional microgels carrying a linear DNA template and Ni2+‐activated NTA moieties are used as platform for cell‐free protein synthesis and in situ protein immobilization. By varying the concentration of NTA moieties in the microgels, the amount of GFP‐His immobilized inside the microgel and released to the microgel environment can be regulated ...

Azide modification forming luminescent sp2 defects on single-walled carbon nanotubes for near-infrared defect photoluminescence [PDF]

open access: yesChem. Commun., 2022, 58, 11422-11425
Azide functionalization produced luminescent sp2-type defects on single-walled carbon nanotubes, by which defect photoluminescence appeared in near infrared regions (1116 nm). Changes in exciton properties were induced by localization effects at the defect sites, creating exciton-engineered nanomaterials based on the defect structure design.

An MS-CASPT2 Study of the Photodecomposition of 4- Methoxyphenyl Azide. Role of Internal Conversion and Intersystem Crossing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Aryl azides photochemistry is strongly dependent on the substituent relative position, as has been studied by time resolved resonant Raman (TR3) spectroscopy for 4-methoxyphenyl azide and its isomer 3-methoxyphenyl azide.

Photochemical Reductive trans-Elimination from trans-Diacidotetracyanoplatinate(IV) Complexes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
Upon CT excitation the complex ions trans-[Pt(CN)4N3X]2- and trans-[Pt(CN)4X2]2- (X = Cl and Br) undergo a reductive trans-elimination with formation of [Pt(CN)4]2- and two ligand radicals in the photoprimary step. The formation of a Pt(III) intermediate

Toward Design Principles for Biomolecular Condensates for Metabolic Pathways

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates are membrane‐less compartments found through‐out nature which can serve as reaction crucibles for biochemical processes. This review explores the design strategies underlying how condensates can be used in biotechnology to enhance multistep enzyme cascades including enhancement by mass action and substrate channeling, and ...

Effect of chloride on the chemical conversion of nitrate to nitrous oxide for δ15N analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We investigate the influence of chloride concentration on the performance of the chemical reduction method for measurement of the nitrogen isotopic ratio (δ15N) in NO3− in natural waters (McIlvin and Altabet, 2005).

In Situ Constructed Magnetic Core‐Shell Hydrogen‐Bonded Organic Framework‐on‐Metal–Organic Framework Structure: an Efficient Catalyst for Peroxymonosulfate Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, a magnetic core‐shell catalyst (HOF‐on‐Fe3O4/ZIF‐67) is successfully synthesized, consisting of a metal–organic framework (ZIF‐67) with magnetic Fe3O4 as the core and a porous hydrogen‐bonded organic framework (HOF) as the shell. The catalyst efficiently activated peroxymonosulfate, resulting in rapid and effective removal of water ...

Synthesis of a Molecular Charm Bracelet via Click Cyclization and Olefin Metathesis Clipping [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We describe the synthesis of a polycatenated cyclic polymer, a structure that resembles a molecular charm bracelet. Ruthenium-catalyzed ring-opening metathesis polymerization of an aminocontaining cyclic olefin monomer in the presence of a chain ...

Organic Azides. 3. Ultrasound Synthesis of Propargyl Azide, Azidoacetonitrile and Primary Allylic Azides. [PDF]

open access: yesActa Chemica Scandinavica, 1984
Various applications of ultrasound in heterogeneous reactions have been published.2 This paper describes the direct formation of azides from activated primary organic halides and aqueous sodium azide solution under ultrasonic irradiation D»]. A mixture of the alkyl halide and saturated aqueous sodium azide is irradiated in an Erlenmeyer flask using a ...

Conducting Polymer Microelectrode Arrays for Simultaneous Electrophysiology and Advanced Brain Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A flexible micro‐electrocorticography array with PEDOT:SS electrodes is shown to be compatible with ultra‐high magnetic field MRI up to 9.4 T. Multimodal brain monitoring is demonstrated by performing simultaneous blood oxygen level‐dependent functional MRI in parallel with electrophysiology.
