Higgs self-coupling measurements using deep learning in the b b ¯ b b ¯ $$ b\overline{b}b\overline{b} $$ final state

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
Measuring the Higgs trilinear self-coupling λ hhh is experimentally demanding but fundamental for understanding the shape of the Higgs potential. We present a comprehensive analysis strategy for the HL-LHC using di-Higgs events in the four b-quark ...

Emerging experimental and computational methods for studying redox‐regulated structural transitions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Redox reactions can reshape proteins and alter how they behave in cells, with important consequences for health and disease. This review explores emerging experimental and computational approaches for discovering these redox‐sensitive protein switches, revealing their structural effects, and predicting their behavior, opening new opportunities to ...

Soft motions encoded by the fold and mediated by conserved hinge sites drive V‐ATPase allosteric machinery and autoinhibition

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Vacuolar H+‐ATPase (V‐ATPase) is a multisubunit rotary proton pump that acidifies intracellular compartments. Using elastic network models, we identified conserved hinge residues that govern its large‐scale functional motions. We show that intrinsically encoded ‘soft modes’ drive critical functional transitions, including rotary catalysis and ...

Drug sensitivity prediction across cancer cell lines with a focus on sarcoma

open access: yesArtificial Intelligence in the Life Sciences
Screening of drugs on cancer cell lines is a first step in the search for compounds leading to cancer cell death, providing the basis for follow-up investigations. Cell line-based drug sensitivity data can be used for predictive modeling, for example, in

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.
