Rasterization Method for Voxel Model Cutting

open access: yesНаукові вісті Національного технічного університету України "Київський політехнічний інститут", 2018
Background. The analysis of voxel dataset cuts is a widespread task in computer graphics applications. A comprehensive study of volume image cuts enables deeper learning of the structure of an object, which is visualized, as well as getting a clear view ...

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Background Initialization with A New Robust Statistical Approach [PDF]

open access: yes2005 IEEE International Workshop on Visual Surveillance and Performance Evaluation of Tracking and Surveillance, 2006
Initializing a background model requires robust statistical methods as the task should be robust against random occurrences of foreground objects, as well as against general image noise. The median has been employed for the problem of background initialization. However, the median has only a breakdown point of 50%.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Impact of Wolf Thresholding on Background Subtraction for Human Motion Detection

open access: yesCompiler
Series of motion detection based on background subtraction there is an image segmentation stage. Thresholding is a common technique used for the segmentation process. There are two types that can be used in thresholding techniques namely local and global.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

FUZZY REGION MERGING WITH HIERARCHICAL CLUSTERING TO FIND OPTIMAL INITIALIZATION OF FUZZY REGION IN IMAGE SEGMENTATION

open access: yesApplied Computer Science
One of the most important goals in image segmentation is the process of separating the object parts from the image background. Image segmentation is also a fundamental stage in the development of other image applications such as object recognition ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
