Theoretical study on the polarization-separated and nonreciprocal tailored electromagnetically induced absorption with layered photonic structure

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2022
In this paper, the behaviors of nonreciprocal and polarization-separated tailored electromagnetically induced absorption (EIA) realized by a layered photonic structure containing InSb are investigated by the transfer matrix method, which shows that the ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Extensive-form Game-Based Pre-Disaster Resilience Planning Considering Post-Disaster Restoration Decisions

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2022
In recent years, extreme natural disasters have occurred frequently, causing a huge impact on the power grid. In this paper, the method of purchasing and deployment of resources of the distribution network is studied to improve the resilience of the ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Do players reason by forward induction in dynamic perfect information games? [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Proceedings in Theoretical Computer Science, 2016
We conducted an experiment where participants played a perfect-information game against a computer, which was programmed to deviate often from its backward induction strategy right at the beginning of the game.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Location-Price Competition in Airline Networks

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2014
This paper addresses location-then-price competition in airline market as a two-stage game of n players on the graph. Passenger’s demand distribution is described by multinomial logit model.
