Differences in Driver Behavior between Manual and Automatic Turning of an Inverted Pendulum Vehicle

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Personal mobility vehicles (PMVs) are compact and lightweight compared to automobiles; hence, human dynamic behavior affects a vehicle’s postural stability.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Direction-of-Arrival Estimation of Virtual Array Signals Based on Doppler Effect

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2015
The estimation accuracy of direction-of-departure (DOD) and direction-of-arrival (DOA) is reduced because of Doppler shifts caused by the high-speed moving sources.

Partial wave analysis of the Dirac fermions scattered from Schwarzschild black holes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Asymptotic analytic solutions of the Dirac equation, giving the scattering modes (of the continuous energy spectrum, $E>mc^2$) in Schwarzschild's chart and Cartesian gauge, are used for building the partial wave analysis of Dirac fermions scattered by ...

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Setting the Structural Reform of Supply-Side as the Focus and Shifting the Economic Development Model

open access: yesContemporary Social Sciences, 2017
To focus on SRSS during the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020) is a necessary response to the changes of the international economic environment and to China’s goal of achieving the new normal in economic development.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Numerical algorithms based on splines for singularly perturbed parabolic partial differential equations with mixed shifts

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems
In this paper, we discuss singularly perturbed time-dependent convection–diffusion problems that arise in computational neuroscience. Specifically, we provide approaches for one-dimensional singularly perturbed parabolic partial differential difference ...

Shift work, sleep, and sleepiness - differences between shift schedules and systems

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Work, Environment & Health, 2010
In this narrative review, we examined what level of research evidence is available that shift workers’ sleep–wake disturbances can be minimized through ergonomic shift scheduling.

Mountaintops phylogeography: A case study using small mammals from the Andes and the coast of central Chile.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
We evaluated if two sigmodontine rodent taxa (Abrothrix olivacea and Phyllotis darwini) from the Andes and Coastal mountaintops of central Chile, experienced distributional shifts due to altitudinal movements of habitat and climate change during and ...
