Priming with salicylic acid induces defense against bacterial blight disease by modulating rice plant photosystem II and antioxidant enzymes activity

, 2019
Bacterial blight is a serious threat to rice production, causing about 50% reduction in grain yield. In the present investigation, we have used chlorophyll fluorescence technique to assess the structural and functional characteristics of chloroplast in a

Inoculation and Virulence Assay for Bacterial Blight and Bacterial Leaf Streak of Rice

2012
Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) and Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzicola (Xoc) cause bacterial blight and bacterial leaf streak in rice, respectively. Despite being very closely related, the pathogens colonize different tissues and cause distinct diseases.

Common Bacterial Blight of Bean

1979
Bacterial blight of bean is a typical leaf spot and leaf blight disease. At first, the lesions on leaves are small, translucent, water-soaked spots which later develop dry brown centers and narrow yellow halos. Lesions coalesce into irregularly-shaped areas which may include the whole leaflet.

Selection for Partial Resistance to Bacterial Blight in Rice

1993
Quantitative resistance was studied as an alternative to the high level monogenic resistance which is of a non-durable nature. Cultivars with moderate levels of resistance were selected by assessing lesion length following clip inoculation with an isolate virulent against major genes.
