Bacterial blight of kiwifruit

Annals of Applied Biology, 1988
SUMMARYBacterial blight of kiwifruit (Actinidia deliciosa) is caused by Pseudomonas viridiflava. Symptoms are rot of floral buds and flowers, and spots on leaves. Buds and flowers nearest the ground are most likely to be affected. Isolations made from healthy buds, flowers and leaves suggest that the pathogen is an epiphyte on vines throughout the year.

The circular RNA circANK suppresses rice resistance to bacterial blight by inhibiting microRNA398b-mediated defense.

The Plant Cell
Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are prevalent in eukaryotic cells and have been linked to disease progressions. Their unique circular structure and stability make them potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
