Mitigation of Metabolic Diseases Through Personalized Nutrition: A Critical In‐Depth Review

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
The main objective of this review is to explore the impact of variation within the microbiome and among genes on nutrient metabolism and argue in favor of successful evidence of individualized dietary intervention for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity.

Dihydroquercetin Attenuates Silica‐Induced Pulmonary Fibrosis by Modulating the Gut Microbiota and the Serum Metabolites in Mice

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
(1) DHQ can attenuate silica‐induced inflammation and pulmonary fibrosis in the C57BL/6 mice. (2) The beneficial effects of DHQ were primarily attributed to the alteration of gut microbiota (particularly Muribaculaceae and Lactobacillus) mediated by serum metabolites.

Astragalus membranaceus—Salvia miltiorrhiza Decoction Ameliorates Metabolic Syndrome and Gut Microbiota Dysbiosis Induced by High‐Fat Diet: A Comparative Study

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
The optimal pairing ratio of ASDs against hyperlipidemia was systematically investigated. ASD maintains intestinal homeostasis and improves the systemic inflammatory response. A new LC–MS/MS method for the determination of derivatized SCFAs was established. ASD regulates the gut microbiota and its metabolites (SCFAs and BAs).

Effect of Targeted Probiotics on Anesthesia‐Induced Sleep Disturbances via Modulating the Gut Microbiome and Metabolites

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
The diversity and abundance of the gut microbiome in rats were significantly disrupted following post‐anesthesia sleep disturbance. Lactobacillales and Bifidobacterium yogurt supplementations increased sleep quality considerably and the abundance of beneficial bacteria, while reducing wakefulness and wake‐related metabolites in the gut.
