Annual managerial changes cause significant changes in dromedary milk composition, microbiological quality and fatty acid profile. Dromedary camel milk is rich in unsaturated fatty acids and long chain fatty acids and has a better atherogenic index (AI) but is poor in short‐chain fatty acids.

Camelus bactrianus, the Bactrian camel
The distribution of the Bactrian camel is very restricted on the subcontinent, and this is true for its representation in sculpture as well. Stone carvings with a camel are limited to the north, although this includes regions where Bactrian camels are not expected: Bangladesh and Madhya Pradesh.
