ABSTRACT Objectives To identify predictors of chronic ITP (cITP) and to develop a model based on several machine learning (ML) methods to estimate the individual risk of chronicity at the timepoint of diagnosis. Methods We analyzed a longitudinal cohort of 944 children enrolled in the Intercontinental Cooperative immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) Study ...

Strong Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen entanglement from a single squeezed light source [PDF]
Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) entanglement is a criterion that is more demanding than just certifying entanglement. We theoretically and experimentally analyze the low resource generation of bi-partite continuous variable entanglement, as realized by ...

On the effectiveness of the new estimators obtained from the Bayes estimator
Estimating the mean parameters in random variables, particularly within multivariate normal distributions, is a critical issue in statistics. Traditional methods, such as the maximum likelihood estimator, often struggle in high-dimensional or small ...

A Theory of Natural Addiction [PDF]
Economic theories of rational addiction aim to describe consumer behavior in the presence of habit-forming goods. We provide a biological foundation for this body of work by formally specifying conditions under which it is optimal to form a habit.

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

Self-acceleration in non-Hermitian Systems
We study self-acceleration in PT and non-PT symmetric systems. We find some novel wave effects that appear uniquely in non-Hermitian systems. We show that integrable self-accelerating waves exist if the Hamiltonian is non-Hermitian.
