Development and validation of machine learning prediction model for post-rehabilitation functional outcome after intracerebral hemorrhage

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Neurosurgery, 2022
Objective: Predicting outcomes after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) may help improve patient outcomes. We developed and validated a machine learning prediction model for post-rehabilitation functional outcomes after ICH. Patient selection and explanatory

Special Freudenthal-Kantor triple systems and Lie algebras with dicyclic symmetry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Lie algebras endowed with an action by automorphisms of the dicyclic group of degree 3 are considered. The close connections of these algebras with Lie algebras graded over the nonreduced root system BC1, with J-ternary algebras and with Freudenthal ...

The centered ternary balance scheme: A technique to visualize surfaces of unbalanced three-part compositions [PDF]

open access: yesDemographic Research, 2021
Background: The ternary balance scheme is a visualization technique that encodes three-part compositions as a mixture of three primary colors. The technique works best if the compositional data are well spread out across the domain but fails to show structure in very unbalanced data.

Ternary Toward Binary: Circuit-Level Implementation of Ternary Logic Using Depletion-Mode and Conventional MOSFETs

open access: yesIEEE Access
The application of artificial intelligence (AI) requires advanced computation to address complex problems. However, the improvement of binary computing systems supporting these applications is approaching their limits due to atomic-level scaling ...

Sigma Delta Modulation Based Ternary FIR Filter Mapping on FPGA [PDF]

open access: yesMehran University Research Journal of Engineering and Technology, 2011
In this paper single-bit SDM (Sigma Delta Modulation) based TFF (Ternary FIR Filter) with balanced ternary coefficients (i.e. -1/0/+1) has been mapped on small commercially available FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays).

About Some Properties and Constructions of Experimental Designs

open access: yesActa Universitatis Lodziensis. Folia Oeconomica, 2016
In this paper, we consider the problems related to the determining plan of the experiment performed according to the model of the chemical balance weighing design under additional assumption that the experimental errors are equally negatively correlated.

High-rate self-synchronizing codes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Self-synchronization under the presence of additive noise can be achieved by allocating a certain number of bits of each codeword as markers for synchronization.

Balanced Charge Transport Optimizes Industry‐Relevant Ternary Polymer Solar Cells [PDF]

open access: yesSolar RRL, 2020
Bulk heterojunction polymer solar cells based on a novel combination of materials are fabricated using industry‐compliant conditions for large area manufacturing. The relatively low‐cost polymer PTQ10 is paired with the nonfullerene acceptor 4TIC‐4F. Devices are processed using a nonhalogenated solvent to comply with industrial usage in absence of any ...

Group Divisible Codes and Their Application in the Construction of Optimal Constant-Composition Codes of Weight Three [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The concept of group divisible codes, a generalization of group divisible designs with constant block size, is introduced in this paper. This new class of codes is shown to be useful in recursive constructions for constant-weight and constant-composition

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
