A Ball‐Milling‐Enabled Reformatsky Reaction

open access: yesChemSusChem, 2019
AbstractAn operationally simple one‐jar one‐step mechanochemical Reformatsky reaction using in situ generated organozinc intermediates under neat grinding conditions has been developed. Notable features of this reaction protocol are that it requires no solvent, no inert gases, and no pre‐activation of the bulk zinc source.

Effect of ball milling process on microstructure and mechanical properties of CNTs/Al composites

open access: yesFenmo yejin jishu
Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and aluminum composite powders were prepared by both wet ball milling and dry ball milling. The CNTs reinforced aluminum matrix (CNTs/Al) composites were fabricated by sparking plasma sintering (SPS) combined with hot extrusion ...

Hyperchaotic qualities of the ball motion in a ball milling device

open access: yesChaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science, 1999
Ball collisions in milling devices are governed by complex dynamics ruled by impredictable impulsive forces. In this paper, nonlinear dynamics techniques are employed to analyze the time series describing the trajectory of a milling ball in an empty container obtained from a numerical model.
