Emissive Liquid Crystalline Boron C,N‐Chelates: Synthesis, Self‐assembly, and Photophysical Properties

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Novel emissive liquid crystalline boron C,N‐chelates were prepared by integrating mesogenic units into the boron C,N‐core. Depending on the substituent at the boron, stable SmA or N mesophases were achieved while maintaining intense blue emission with excellent quantum yields (61%–100%).

Framing Modern Slavery: Do Stakeholders Talk Past Each Other?

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Administrative Sciences / Revue Canadienne des Sciences de l'Administration, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Modern slavery literature has thus far mostly adopted a downstream perspective, in the sense that researchers investigated corporate actors' responses after the enactment of transparency legislation. The common finding is that corporate disclosure is poor and ineffective, contributing to a failure to eradicate modern slavery.

Golden bananas in the field: elevated fruit pro‐vitamin A from the expression of a single banana transgene

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, 2016
Summary Vitamin A deficiency remains one of the world's major public health problems despite food fortification and supplements strategies. Biofortification of staple crops with enhanced levels of pro‐vitamin A (PVA) offers a sustainable alternative ...

Optimal model‐based design of experiments for parameter precision: Supercritical extraction case

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract This study investigates the process of chamomile oil extraction from flowers. A parameter‐distributed model consisting of a set of partial differential equations is used to describe the governing mass transfer phenomena in a cylindrical packed bed with solid chamomile particles under supercritical conditions using carbon dioxide as a solvent ...

Expert Consensus on Real‐World Use of Trofinetide for Rett Syndrome Using a Modified Delphi Method

open access: yesAnnals of the Child Neurology Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Trofinetide is the first approved treatment for Rett syndrome (RTT) in the United States and Canada. Trofinetide improved the core symptoms of RTT in clinical trials, and real‐world evidence supports the findings of clinical trials.

Freshness recognition and remaining shelf life prediction of banana based on attention Temporal Convolutional Network

open access: yesShipin yu jixie
ObjectiveTo address the issue of traditional machine learning algorithms (BP, SVM) struggling to effectively extract features from time series data, which leads to subpar model recognition and prediction performance, and aim to minimize the freshness ...

Modifying Bananas: From Transgenics to Organics?

open access: yes, 2017
Bananas are one of the top ten world food crops. Unlike most other major food crops, bananas are difficult to genetically improve. The challenge is that nearly all banana cultivars and landraces are triploids, with high levels of male and female ...

High‐Performance Solar‐Thermal Hydrogel Based on Waste Biomass Materials for Power Generation and Water Purification

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
An environmentally friendly and highly efficient solar evaporator was constructed using waste biomass materials and polyvinyl alcohol carrier, which achieves an outstanding evaporation rate of 1.48 kg m−2 h−1, corresponding to an energy conversion efficiency of 82.49% under 1.0 kW m−2 simulated sunlight irradiation.

Fungicides used on postharvest bananas

open access: yesAgrarian, 2015
There is little information available on the postharvest behavior of bananas after the application of fungicides in the Registro-SP region. This study aims to evaluate the soluble solids (ºBrix), pH, and total acidity of the bananas after the application
