The FIRST-2MASS Red Quasar Survey [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Combining radio observations with optical and infrared color selection -- demonstrated in our pilot study to be an efficient selection algorithm for finding red quasars -- we have obtained optical and infrared spectroscopy for 120 objects in a complete ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Hierarchical Clustering Based Band Selection Algorithm for Hyperspectral Face Recognition

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Hyperspectral face recognition is a small sample size problem, where usually less than four hyperspectral cubes are available as training data. At the same time, hyperspectral face image acquires grayscale images over a series of continuous spectra which

Adaptive band selection snapshot multispectral imaging in the VIS/NIR domain

open access: yes, 2010
Hyperspectral imaging has proven its efficiency for target detection applications but the acquisition mode and the data rate are major issues when dealing with real-time detection applications.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Genetic Algorithm-Based Weighted Constraint Target Band Selection for Hyperspectral Target Detection

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Hyperspectral imaging (HSI) data pose both opportunities and challenges for target detection due to the high spectral resolution and vast data volume.

An Effective Feature Segmentation Algorithm for a Hyper-Spectral Facial Image

open access: yesInformation, 2018
The human face as a biometric trait has been widely used for personal identity verification but it is still a challenging task under uncontrolled conditions.

Automatic PCM guard-band selector and calibrator [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
Automatic method for selection of proper guard band eliminates human error and speeds up calibration process. There is also an option which allows a single channel to be calibrated, independently of other channels.

A photometric survey for Lyalpha-HeII dual emitters: Searching for Population III stars in high-redshift galaxies

open access: yes, 2008
We present a new photometric search for high-z galaxies hosting Population III (PopIII) stars based on deep intermediate-band imaging observations obtained in the Subaru Deep Field (SDF), by using Suprime-Cam on the Subaru Telescope. By combining our new
