High‐Speed Photoresponse of CVD‐Grown Lateral TMD Heterostructures
Internal electric fields generated by p‐n junctions and asymmetric Schottky barriers enhance the photoresponse speed in CVD‐grown monolayer TMD lateral heterostructures. This results in a 1.5‐2 orders of magnitude reduction in rise and fall times for optimized device configurations compared to homogeneous single‐material devices, enabling bandwidths ...

Rainbow Trapping in Highly Doped Silicon Graded Grating Strip at the Terahertz Range
In this paper, we propose surface plasma polaritons (SPPs) propagating along the structure of grating grooves based on highly doped silicon, which exhibits better performance of exciting SPPs than metal at low frequency (e.g., microwaves, mid infrared ...

Photonic bandgap defect laser [PDF]
We form a microcavity laser using two-dimensional photonic crystals embedded in a half wavelength thick waveguide. Modes localized to a single defect in the photonic crystal can be theoretically shown to have mode volumes as small 2(/spl lambda//2n)/sup 3/ and near unity spontaneous emission coupling factors.

Bandgap- and Local Field-Dependent Photoactivity of Ag/Black Phosphorus Nanohybrids
Black phosphorus (BP) is the most exciting post-graphene layered nanomaterial that serendipitously bridges the 2D materials gap between semimetallic graphene and large bandgap transition-metal dichalcogenides in terms of high charge-carrier mobility and ...

High‐Efficiency Deep Blue Single‐Gaussian Europium(II) Emitters and Their Emitter‐Host Interactions
Crown‐ether ligands and carborate anions enable vacuum‐processable Eu(II) emitters with efficient single‐Gaussian deep‐blue luminescence. Combined photophysical and computational analyses reveal that excited‐electron confinement and steric shielding of the europium center jointly govern compatibility with OLED host materials, establishing molecular ...
