Introducing Borsantrazole: A Trifunctional Boron‐Based Pyrazole That Extends the Lifespan of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Herein we report a boron‐based pyrazole, (Borsantrazole ‐ a small molecule that selectively targets oxidative stress) that significantly increases survival, reduces weight loss, delays disease onset, and affects global protein changes in the SOD1‐G37R mouse model of ALS.

$\Omega_{bbb}\Omega_{bbb}\Omega_{bbb}$ tribaryons

open access: yes
We study the possible existence of bound states of three $\Omega_{bbb}$ baryons. We consider only $S$ wave interactions and we start from recent lattice QCD results which give a strongly attractive potential between two $\Omega_{bbb}$ baryons in the $^1S_0$ channel. We analyze different scenarios.

RPLP2 Mediates the Beneficial Effects of Exercise on Stress Resistance Through Muscle–Brain Communication

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel exercise‐inducible myokine acidic ribosomal protein P2 (RPLP2), initially identified from human trials, is presented here, whose circulating levels negatively correlate with clinical anxiety severity. Muscle‐derived RPLP2 enhances hippocampal ribosomal assembly and adult neurogenesis to rescue stress‐induced anxiety deficits.

Human blood–brain barrier spheroid models for the evaluation of drugs targeting brain vascular inflammation

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences
The blood–brain barrier (BBB), primarily formed by brain microvascular endothelial cells (BMECs), restricts substance entry into the brain. BBB inflammation, involving barrier dysfunction and immune cell recruitment, contributes to neurological diseases ...

EphB1‐Mediated Transient Blood‐Brain Barrier Opening Facilitates a Ferritin‐Based Nanotherapeutic for Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We constructed a brain‐targeted AFn‐DPZ nanodrug delivery system and identified EphB1 as its receptor on the blood‐brain barrier (BBB). This system facilitates drug transport across the BBB and thereby ameliorates cognitive impairment in Alzheimer's disease.

Targeted Degradation of STING by a Neutrophil Membrane‐Coated Nanoplatform Suppresses Microglial Pyroptosis After Subarachnoid Hemorrhage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
MG1@NM‐Px serves as a microglia‐targeted STING‐degrading nanoplatform for subarachnoid hemorrhage. Following systemic administration, it crosses the blood–brain barrier and accumulates in activated microglia. STP1‐mediated STING ubiquitination and degradation suppress MAPK/inflammasome signaling, GSDME‐mediated pyroptosis, and IL‐1β release, revealing ...

Minimal surfaces in ${\Bbb M}\sp 2\times\Bbb R$

open access: yesIllinois Journal of Mathematics, 2002
We study the geometry and topology of properly embedded minimal surfaces in $M\times\mathbb{R}$, where $M$ is a Riemannian surface. When $M$ is a round sphere, we give examples of all genus and we prove such minimal surfaces have exactly two ends or equal $M\times\{t\}$, for some real $t$.
