Method to Determine the Optimal Aptamer-to-Bead Ratio by Using Flow Cytometry
Research on the effective attachment of aptamers to beads, which is essential for using aptamers, has made relatively little progress. Here, we demonstrate a new method based on flow cytometry to determine the optimal aptamer-to-bead ratio for aptamer ...

Functional role and folding properties of the glucan‐binding domain of oral bacterial glucansucrase
The role of the glucan‐binding domain in Streptococcus sobrinus glucansucrase was examined, focusing on its impact on enzymatic activity, dextran binding, and structural stability of deletion mutants and a circularly permuted protein. Our research revealed that glucosyl transfer efficiency is linked to cooperative interdomain folding.

Book Review: The Bead Maker From Ribe: The Story of a Viking Craftsman by Thomas Risom
Having been involved with experimental work with Viking Era beads for a decade and a half, I am always looking for more information on the topic. Ribe is the most significant beadmaking site of the Viking Era due to its archaeological remains and the ...

Microfluidics is assumed to be one of the leading and most promising areas of research since the early 1990s. In microfluidic systems, small spherical magnetic particles with superparamagnetic properties, called magnetic beads, play an important role in ...

The yeast mitoribosome assembly factor Rsm22 contains a [4Fe‐4S] cluster that is matured by the mitochondrial iron–sulfur cluster assembly (ISC) machinery. Defects in ISC components result in impaired mitochondrial protein synthesis due to a mitoribosome assembly defect.

Anglo-Saxon Beads: Redefining The “Traffic Lights”
Many thousands of glass beads have been excavated from Early British cemeteries of the fifth and sixth centuries AD. Amongst these beads is a type that was particularly common: decorated polychrome beads in red, yellow, and green glass in a variety of ...

Bead-Based Multiplex Analysis. Bead-basierte Multiplexanalyse
Summary : Current developments in laboratory diagnostics are characterized by an increasing request for the simultaneous determination of complex parameter profiles in immunology or microbiology. At the same time, rapid availability of test results and low total costs for testing are emerging needs for diagnostic laboratories. Test platforms that allow

C‐mannosylation is a unique form of protein glycosylation. In this study, we demonstrated that ADAMTS1 is C‐mannosylated at Trp562 and Trp565 in human testicular germ cell tumor NEC8 cells. We found that C‐mannosylation of ADAMTS1 is essential for its secretion, processing, enzymatic activity, and ability to promote vasculogenic mimicry. These findings

Jacobi Elliptic Functions and the Complete Solution to the Bead on the Hoop Problem
Jacobi elliptic functions are flexible functions that appear in a variety of problems in physics and engineering. We introduce and describe important features of these functions and present a physical example from classical mechanics where they appear: a
