Abrasion Resistance of Thermally Treated Beech Wood [PDF]
The study focused on the abrasion resistance of beech wood thermally treated at high temperatures. A standard test for determining abradability, according to ISO 4649, was used. We studied factors such as the anatomical direction, temperature of treatment, and duration of treatment, as well as their effects on abrasion resistance performance.

The Effects of Natural Weathering on Color Stability of Impregnated and Varnished Wood Materials
The aim of this study was to investigate effects of natural weathering on color stability of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) and Oriental beech (Fagus orientalis L.) impregnated with some chemicals [tanalith-E (TN-E), adolit-KD5 (AD-KD5), and chromated ...

Identification of moisture-induced stresses in cross-laminated wood panels from beech wood ( Fagus sylvatica L.) [PDF]
The crosswise bonding of the layers in laminated solid wood panels results in internal stresses when the humidity varies. The layers hinder one another as a result of the anisotropy of wood.

We assess the effect of sanitation felling performed in 2022 in North‐Eastern Italy on bark beetle damage that occurred in 2023 across eight spruce forest types, as evaluated using multispectral satellite imagery. Bark beetle damage was reduced only at very high or very low sanitation felling rates.
