Quantitative Stain Mapping in X‐Ray Virtual Histology

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Virtual histology promises 3D tissue examination without physical sectioning, yet has lacked the tissue‐specificity of conventional pathology. This work demonstrates the first quantitative three‐dimensional stain mapping at histologically relevant resolution, separating contrast agent from tissue to reveal cellular features such as nuclei. The approach

Impact of Barley Malt with Different Row-Types on the Volatile Compounds in Beer

open access: yesFoods
As the primary raw material for beer production, barley is classified into two-row barley and six-row barley. The nutrient content is different in the different row-types of malts, and the beer volatile compounds (VCs) will be influenced when using them.

Enhanced Bandgap Flexibility in Perovskite‐Silicon Tandem Solar Cells via Three‐Terminal Architecture

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Three‐terminal (3T) perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells overcome the current‐matching constraints of 2T designs. Using an IBC POLO silicon bottom cell, we demonstrate a 30.1% PCE, with performance largely decoupled from perovskite bandgap and enhanced resilience under realistic, time‐dependent solar spectra.

When Sheep Shop: Measuring Herding Effects in Product Ratings with Natural Experiments

open access: yes, 2018
As online shopping becomes ever more prevalent, customers rely increasingly on product rating websites for making purchase decisions. The reliability of online ratings, however, is potentially compromised by the so-called herding effect: when rating a ...

Innovative Metasurface Colorimetric Cell‐on‐a‐Chip Sensor for Continuous, Label‐Free, Non‐Destructive Assessment of Intestinal Barrier Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We developed a real‐time, label‐free, high‐throughput cell‐on‐a‐chip system based on a metasurface plasmon resonance colorimetric sensor (MetaSPRCS) to evaluate intestinal barrier function. This platform enables continuous monitoring of cell adhesion, proliferation, and barrier layer formation, disruption, and repair.

Enhanced Photocatalytic Wastewater Purification and Bacterial Elimination via Copper Ion Irradiation‐Induced Modification of BiOCl

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a copper ion irradiation method to achieve the modification function of BiOCl. By using high‐energy ion beams to introduce impurity ions inside the material, the intrinsic electric field of BiOCl is optimized, promoting the separation of photogenerated carriers and enhancing the photocatalytic activity.
