Fluorescent and Chemiluminescent Dyes with Aryl Phthalimide and Aryl Luminol Chromophores

open access: yesChemPhotoChem, EarlyView.
A series of photo‐active phthalimides and luminols is prepared by an arylation method from a key precursor. Significant stereoelectronic correlation of the aromatic substituents with the photophysical properties is documented. A new arylated luminol derivative shows a more than three times higher ΦCL than the parent luminol.

A Telescoped Strategy for the Preparation of Five‐Membered Hetero‐ and Carbocycles via Hydrogen Atom Transfer Photocatalysis in Flow

open access: yesChemSusChem, Accepted Article.
Five‐membered heterocycles such as pyrroles and thiophenes, along with cyclopentenones, are key scaffolds in pharmaceutical chemistry. However, the synthesis of these motifs via Diversity Oriented Synthesis (DOS) is hindered by the limited accessibility of unsymmetrical 1,4‐diketones.

Plasma Production by Laser Ablation of Heavy Metals

open access: yesContributions to Plasma Physics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT An Nd:YAG focused laser operating at 1064 nm, 3 ns pulse width, 360 mJ pulse energy, is employed to irradiate heavy metals, such as Ta, W, Pt, Au, and Pb. The in‐vacuum irradiation produces an expanding plasma at the target surface which has high density, temperature, and kinetic energy of emitted ions. Ions have a velocity of the order of 104

Effects of Childhood Emotional Abuse on Treatment Outcome in Adolescent Inpatients With Anorexia Nervosa

open access: yesInternational Journal of Eating Disorders, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Although childhood maltreatment, especially emotional abuse, is strongly linked to the psychopathology of anorexia nervosa (AN), the impact of such a traumatic experience on treatment outcome is not clear. This study aimed to explore how emotional abuse affects change in psychopathology during treatment. Method Adolescents with AN (n
