Monetary policy analysis at a non-linear and a Bayesian framework [PDF]
In this thesis, we examine potential non-linear behaviour in central banks’ response with regards to the instrument used for the conduct of monetary policy. The central bank of interest is the Bank of England (BoE).

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Autonomous valves in micro-fluidic manifolds based on versatile photoresponsive ionogels [PDF]
Versatility in valve actuation within micro-fluidic devices is very desirable since precise flow control, provision of exact reagent amounts, contamination prevention between reagents, autonomy, disposability and low-cost manufacture are factors that ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

"GOOD CAUSES" CROWDFUNDING AS A DRIVER FOR BEHAVIOURAL CHANGE IN DEMAND RESPONSE SCENARIOS
The purpose of the CITYOPT Nice pilot project is to reduce domestic consumption during peak load hours, by engaging residents with demand response scenarios through a mobile app. This paper analyses the CITYOPT approach, suggesting that, when economic rewards are missing, a mix of educational activities, community involvement, social proof, and ...
