A GLUTAMATE CYSTEINE LIGASE Gene StGSH1 Regulated by StERF10 Enhanced Glutathione Accumulation and Adaptation to Low Phosphorus Stress in Potato

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The StERF10‐StGSH1 module coordinates glutathione (GSH) biosynthesis under low‐phosphorus stress. The low‐phosphate‐induced AP2/ERF transcription factor StERF10 directly activates the transcription of StGSH1 and enhances GSH accumulation. Consequently, GSH scavenges reactive oxygen species and provides sulfur for sulfolipid synthesis, facilitating the ...

Emerg Infect Dis [PDF]

open access: yes
To assess the spread of the Mycobacterium tuberculosis Beijing genotype among patients with multidrug-resistant and extensively resistant tuberculosis in Bulgaria, we genotyped 188 (72%) of 261 microbiologically confirmed resistant isolates obtained ...

Improving population-specific allele frequency estimates by adapting supplemental data: an empirical Bayes approach

open access: yes, 2007
Estimation of the allele frequency at genetic markers is a key ingredient in biological and biomedical research, such as studies of human genetic variation or of the genetic etiology of heritable traits.

embCAB Sequence Variation Among Ethambutol-Resistant Mycobacterium Tuberculosis Isolates Without embB306 Mutation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Mechanisms of resistance to ethambutol in Mycobacterium tuberculosis remain inadequately described. Although there is mounting evidence that mutations of codon 306 in embB play a key role, a significant number of phenotypically ethambutol-resistant ...

Comparison of drug resistance genotypes between Beijing and non-Beijing family strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in Korea

open access: yesJournal of Microbiological Methods, 2005
The frequency of resistance genotypes among Beijing and non-Beijing strains was compared using a reverse blot hybridization assay to detect mutations within genes associated with rifampicin (rpoB) and isoniazid (katG, inhA, and ahpC) resistance. Of the 743 Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolates, 569 (77%) belonged to Beijing family.

Single‐Cell Dissection Reveals Immune Dysregulation After CD5 or CD7‐Directed Chimeric Antigen Receptor T‐Cell Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐cell RNA/TCR/BCR sequencing reveals that 5CAR therapy in T‐ALL induces T‐cell exhaustion, reduces EBV‐associated TCRs, lowers TCR/BCR diversity, and increases NK/DC/monocyte activation and function. In contrast, 7CAR therapy reduces multiple pathogen‐associated TCRs, enhances NK cell activation and function, decreases monocyte activation, and ...

Mycobacterium tuberculosisBeijing Genotype and Risk for Treatment Failure and Relapse, Vietnam

open access: yesEmerging Infectious Diseases, 2003
Among 2,901 new smear-positive tuberculosis cases in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, 40 cases of treatment failure and 39 relapsing cases were diagnosed. All initial and follow-up Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolates of these case-patients had (nearly) identical restriction fragment length polymorphism patterns, and the Beijing genotype was a significant ...

Discovery of a Novel and Potent Kir4.1 Inhibitor as a Safe and Rapid‐Onset Antidepressant Agent in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The preferred derivative JX3212 demonstrates strong inhibitory activity against Kir4.1 with favorable druggability and shows significant antidepressant efficacy in vivo. Abstract Major depressive disorder is a serious psychiatric disorder for which novel and fast‐acting antidepressants are required.

Effect of rs1344706 in the ZNF804A gene on the brain network. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
ZNF804A rs1344706 (A/C) was the first SNP that reached genome-wide significance for schizophrenia. Recent studies have linked rs1344706 to functional connectivity among specific brain regions.

The Tumor‐to‐Endothelial Transfer of FTO Promotes Vascular Remodeling and Metastasis in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Integrated omics analysis of matched primary and liver metastatic NPC tumors reveals a unique NOTCH1+ CSC subpopulation exhibiting enhanced stemness properties and tumorigenic capacity. With in vitro and in vivo assays, exosomal transfer of tumor‐derived FTO from NOTCH1+ cells to the endothelium promotes vascular permeability and metastatic potential ...
