Mechanisms for Belief Elicitation Without Ground Truth

open access: yesJournal of Economic Surveys
ABSTRACT This review article examines the challenge of eliciting truthful information from multiple individuals when such information cannot be verified, a problem known as “information elicitation without verification.” This article reviews over 25 mechanisms designed to incentivize truth‐telling in such scenarios and their ...

Mitochondrial Localization of Cx26 Promotes Colorectal Cancer Malignancy and Exposes a Fatal Vulnerability to Drug Targeting

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial localization of Cx26 emerges as a double‐edged sword in colorectal cancer. PIMT‐mediated methylation of Cx26 promotes its mitochondrial localization and stability. Mitochondrial Cx26 then facilitates ER‐mitochondria communication and Ca2+ signaling, thereby promoting metastatic progression. Bortezomib exploits this malignant adaptation by

The effects of (incentivized) belief elicitation in public goods experiments

open access: yes
Belief elicitation is an important methodological issue for experimental economists. There are two generic questions: 1) Do incentives increase belief accuracy? 2) Are there interaction effects of beliefs and decisions?

Visual Belief Elicitation and False Discovery

open access: yes
Visualization supports exploratory data analysis, but charts can also mislead people into drawing unwarranted conclusions from spurious patterns. We evaluate interventions to prevent false discovery from visualized data.

LigHTS: Biomimetic Hydrogel Photo‐Fabrication for Imaging‐Based Ultra‐High‐Throughput Screening

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
LigHTS removes a key bottleneck for ultra‐high‐throughput screening (UHTS) by enabling biomimetic hydrogel microenvironments to be manufactured directly in standard multiwell plates. A single, collimated UV exposure with formulation‐tuned light penetration patterns an entire plate with UHTS‐grade uniformity (<20% CV), producing structured GelMA films ...

Equilibrium Play and Best Reply to (Stated) Beliefs in Constant Sum Games [PDF]

open access: yes
We report experimental results on one-shot two person 3x3 constant sum games played by non-economists without previous experience in the laboratory.

NCLX Inhibition plus Ca2+ Delivery Potentiates Electroporation and Antitumor Immunity in Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Electroporation combined with NCLX inhibition and Ca2+ delivery induces mitochondrial Ca2+ overload in PDAC cells, triggering pyroptosis, DAMP release, and antitumor immune activation. Simultaneously, suppression of tumor‐derived SPP1 weakens SPP1–CD44 signaling and remodels macrophages toward an antitumor phenotype, thereby enhancing CD8+ T‐cell ...

INTRODUCTION TO THE SEMANTICS OF BELIEF AND COMMON BELIEF [PDF]

open access: yes
We provide an introduction to interactive belief systems from a qualitative and semantic point of view. Properties of belief hierarchies are formulated locally.

Disrupted Top‐Down Modulation as a Mechanism of Impaired Multisensory Processing in Autistic Children

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this work, we show that multisensory integration in autistic children is characterized by attenuated ERP responses and α‐band desynchronization, together with reduced theta‐band communication between parieto‐occipital and frontal regions. The intermediate neural profile observed in unaffected siblings raises the possibility that altered cortical ...

A Novel Bioactive Component, Efoba, From Aged Garlic Targets CTSC to Suppress NET‐Driven Neuroinflammation and Ameliorate Secondary Brain Injury After Intracerebral Hemorrhage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Efoba, a novel bioactive component derived from aged garlic, confers neuroprotection against intracerebral hemorrhage. It acts on microglia to suppress CTSC release, inhibits NET‐mediated neural injury, and blocks pathological microglia‐neutrophil crosstalk. This study provides a highly promising lead compound for hemorrhagic‐stroke therapy.
