Forecast score distributions with imperfect observations [PDF]
Advances in Statistical Climatology, Meteorology and Oceanography, 2021 The field of statistics has become one of the mathematical foundations in forecast evaluation studies, especially with regard to computing scoring rules. The classical paradigm of scoring rules is to discriminate between two different forecasts by

Comparing input interfaces to elicit belief distributions
Judgment and Decision Making, 2023 This paper introduces a new software interface to elicit belief distributions of any shape: Click-and-Drag. The interface was tested against the state of the art in the experimental literature—a text-based interface and multiple sliders—and in the online

A method to elicit beliefs as most likely intervals [PDF]
Judgment and Decision Making, 2015 We show how to elicit the beliefs of an expert in the form of a “most likely interval”, a set of future outcomes that are deemed more likely than any other outcome.

Scoring sleep: the rules for looking inside [PDF]
Romanian Journal of Neurology, 2015 Polysomnography is the most comprehensive sleep study, a multi-parametric recording test (electroencephalography, electrooculogram, chin and limbs electromyogram, respiratory and cardiac functions and permanent videorecording), used as an important ...

An Objective Prior from a Scoring Rule
Entropy, 2021 In this paper, we introduce a novel objective prior distribution levering on the connections between information, divergence and scoring rules. In particular, we do so from the starting point of convex functions representing information in density ...

Error Parsing: An alternative method of implementing social judgment theory
Judgment and Decision Making, 2015 We present a novel method of judgment analysis called Error Parsing, based upon an alternative method of implementing Social Judgment Theory (SJT). SJT and Error Parsing both posit the same three components of error in human judgment: error due to noise,

Centralized Task Allocation and Alignment Based on Constraint Table and Alignment Rules
Applied Sciences, 2022 In this paper, we propose a centralized task allocation and an alignment technique based on constraint table and alignment rules. For task allocation, a scoring scheme has to be set.

Scoring sleep using respiration and movement-based features
MethodsX, 2022 Rules derived from standard Rechtschaffen and Kales criteria were developed to accurately score rodent sleep into wake, rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, and non-REM sleep using movements detected by non-contact electric field (EF) sensors.• Using this ...
