Power Law and Dimension of the Maximum Value for Belief Distribution With the Maximum Deng Entropy
Deng entropy is a novel and efficient uncertainty measure to deal with imprecise phenomenon, which is an extension of Shannon entropy. In this paper, power law and dimension of the maximum value for belief distribution with the max Deng entropy are ...

The Law of Entropy Increase and the Meissner Effect
The law of entropy increase postulates the existence of irreversible processes in physics: the total entropy of an isolated system can increase, but cannot decrease.

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Generalized Ordered Propositions Fusion Based on Belief Entropy
A set of ordered propositions describe the different intensities of a characteristic of an object, the intensities increase or decrease gradually. A basic support function is a set of truth-values of ordered propositions, it includes the determinate part and indeterminate part.

Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

A Hybrid Fuzzy Soft Sets Decision Making Method in Medical Diagnosis
The existing approaches for fuzzy soft sets decision-making are mainly based on different types of level soft sets. How to deal with such kinds of fuzzy soft sets decision-making problems via decreasing the uncertainty resulting from human's subjective ...

Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.

From Maximum Entropy to Belief Propagation: An application to Skin Detection [PDF]
We build a maximum entropy model for skin detection. This model imposes constraints on various marginal distributions. Parameter estimation as well as optimization cannot be tackled without approximations. We propose to use a tree approximation of the pixel lattice.

Dempster-Shafer evidence theory is an important methodology for multi-source information fusion depending on its advantages in dealing with uncertain information. The classical fusion rule proposed by Dempster, however, fails to handle evidence with high

Pharmacological chromatin remodeling enhances response to estrogen therapy in ER+ breast cancer
Estrogen therapy elicits clinical benefit in ~ 30% of patients with endocrine‐resistant estrogen receptor (ER)‐positive breast cancer. Based on findings that ER transcriptional activation underlies response to estrogen therapy, we tested the effects of epigenetic dysregulation via pharmacological inhibition of histone deacetylases (HDACi).
