1,2-Dimethyl-4,5-diphenylbenzene determined on a Bruker SMART X2S benchtop crystallographic system [PDF]
The title compound, C(20)H(18), has two crystallographically independent molecules in the asymmetric unit. The phenyl substituents of molecule A are twisted away from the plane defined by the central benzene ring by 131.8 (2) and -52.7 (3)degrees.

Cyclic pyrrole-imidazole polyamides targeted to the androgen response element [PDF]
Hairpin pyrrole−imidazole (Py-Im) polyamides are a class of cell-permeable DNA-binding small molecules that can disrupt transcription factor−DNA binding and regulate endogenous gene expression.

Impact of E‐Beam Sterilization on Bioglass Composite Shape Memory Scaffolds
Electron beam (E‐beam) sterilization is an attractive alternative to conventional methods (e.g., ethylene oxide) to sterilize medical devices such as scaffolds used to heal bone defects. Herein, the impact of E‐beam sterilization on the properties of “self‐fitting” shape memory polymer (SMP) scaffolds prepared from resorbable polyesters and a bioglass ...

Ultrafast 2D benchtop NMR spectroscopy enhanced by flow Overhauser dynamic nuclear polarization
Benchtop Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is a powerful analytical technique for the monitoring of reactions and processes due to its accessibility and lower cost compared to high-field NMR.

Solution-phase synthesis of pyrrole-imidazole polyamides [PDF]
Pyrrole−imidazole polyamides are DNA-binding molecules that are programmable for a large repertoire of DNA sequences. Typical syntheses of this class of heterocyclic oligomers rely on solid-phase methods. Solid-phase methodologies offer rapid assembly on

Donor–acceptor Stenhouse aDdducts (DASAs) are known for their photoinduced tautomerization, which, when conjugated to block copolymers, can self‐assemble into tuneable polymersomes. These DASA‐polymersomes are being investigated for light‐controlled cargo release in biomedical applications.

Lipidomic analysis and classification of Iberian dry‐cured hams with low field NMR
Iberian ham is a high‐quality food that is traditionally produced from black pigs that are native to the Iberian Peninsula. The taste and texture of Iberian ham are largely determined by its lipid content and composition.

Groups 5 and 6 Terminal Hydrazido(2−) Complexes: N_β Substituent Effects on Ligand-to-Metal Charge-Transfer Energies and Oxidation States [PDF]
Brightly colored terminal hydrazido(2−) (dme)MCl_3(NNR_2) (dme = 1,2-dimethoxyethane; M = Nb, Ta; R = alkyl, aryl) or (MeCN)WCl_4(NNR_2) complexes have been synthesized and characterized.

Hyperpolarised benchtop NMR spectroscopy for analytical applications
Benchtop NMR spectrometers, with moderate magnetic field strengths (B0=1-2.4T) and sub-ppm chemical shift resolution, are an affordable and portable alternative to standard laboratory NMR (B0≥7T). However, in moving to lower magnetic field instruments, sensitivity and chemical shift resolution are significantly reduced.
