Aqueous phase hydration and hydrate acidity of perfluoroalkyl and n:2 fluorotelomer aldehydes [PDF]
Perfluoroalkyl aldehydes (PFAlds) and n:2 fluorotelomer aldehydes (FTAlds) are degradation products of precursor compounds that include fluorotelomer alcohols, iodides, acrylates, phosphate esters, and other derivatives, as well as hydrofluorocarbons and

Indole‐Based π‐Extended Monophosphine Ligands for Enhanced Palladium‐Catalyzed Sonogashira Coupling
A general palladium‐catalyzed Sonogashira cross‐coupling of (hetero)aryl chlorides with aliphatic, (hetero)aryl alkynes is described using Pd(dba)₂/PCy2‐Napdole‐phos catalyst system. The reaction protocol exhibits broad substrate scope and the catalyst loading can be down to 0.2 mol% Pd.

We report here a new methodology to prepare functional poly(acetylene)s under aqueous conditions. This methodology is underpinned by poly(O‐propargyl‐N‐amino carbamate) (P1), a reactive poly(acetylene) carrying acyl hydrazines. Thus, P1 reacts with aldehydes to give functional poly(acetylene)s, including cationic, hydrophobic, and sugar‐loaded poly ...

Generalist‐pollinated Arabis alpina exhibits floral scent variation at multiple scales
Plants that depend on animals for reproduction often use complex floral traits to attract pollinators. Floral scent is recognized as part of the pollinator attraction module and can be shaped by plant‐pollinator interactions. In recent decades, research has started to reveal the dynamic properties of floral scent, identifying patterns of spatial and ...

FeCl3‐Catalyzed Synthesis of Ynones from Silylated Alkynes and Acetic Anhydride
The synthesis of alkynones from silylated alkynes and acid chlorides, first reported by Birkhofer in 1963, remains a valuable transformation. However, its reliance on stoichiometric AlCl3 and corrosive reagents raises environmental and practical concerns. To address this, a greener protocol using catalytic FeCl3 and acetic anhydride is developed.

In organic synthesis, deep eutectic solvents (DES) have demonstrated their ability to be used as reaction media for the development of reactions in line with green chemistry principles. This review presents an overview of microwave‐assisted organic synthesis in DES, highlighting the diversity of uses for these solvents, their role in mechanisms, the ...

The ketogenic diet alters microbiome‐metabolome profiles to improve West syndrome therapy
The ketogenic diet alleviates West syndrome by reshaping gut microbiota (increasing Bacteroides, Parabacteroides, and reducing Escherichia and Bifidobacterium), and modulating metabolites—including anticonvulsant lipids (e.g., capric acid), suppressed harmful lipids (e.g., 2‐methylbutyroylcarnitine), and amino acids and analogs (e.g., 3‐sulfinoalanine)—

A novel silicone elastomer based on selectively cleavable acetal cross‐linkers incorporated by hydrosilylation was developed. Different acetal cross‐linkers were synthesized and introduced into a silicone formulation of vinyl‐terminated PDMS and tetrakis(dimethylsiloxy)silane using Karstedt's catalyst.
