Isonicotinonitrile–benzoic acid (1/1) [PDF]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E Structure Reports Online, 2010
In the title 1:1 adduct, C(6)H(4)N(2)·C(7)H(6)O(2), the carboxyl group and its attached phenyl ring are essentially coplanar, being twisted from each other by a dihedral angle of only 2.05 (3)°. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are connected via O-H⋯N and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, building an R(2) (2)(7) ring.

2-(2-Nitroanilino)benzoic acid [PDF]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E Structure Reports Online, 2011
In the title compound, C(13)H(10)N(2)O(4), the nitro N atom deviates by 0.031 (2) Å from the plane of the benzene ring to which it is attached. The aromatic rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 50.6 (1)°. An intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal, inversion dimers are formed by pairs of O-H⋯O inter-actions.

Nanoconfined Cu─O─Mo Asymmetric Sites Enable Ambient Spontaneous O2‐to‐1O2 Conversion for Sustainable Water Purification

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An asymmetric Cu+─O─Mo6+ dual‐site in a nanoconfined membrane turns O2 into singlet oxygen at ambient conditions with ≈95% selectivity, bypassing superoxide. It concentrates reactants for rapid pollutant removal, operates stably in continuous flow with ultra‐low metal leaching and cost, efficiently purifying complex waters.

Surface‐Mounted Metal‐Organic Framework for the Adsorption and Sensing of Monoaromatic Pollutants in Water Using Quartz Crystal Microbalance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A hydrophobic metal‐organic framework (UHMOF‐100) is grown on a quartz crystal microbalance sensor for the first time. The device enables real‐time, selective detection of monoaromatic BTEX pollutants in water, demonstrating a new strategy for creating robust chemical sensors for challenging environmental monitoring applications. Abstract Environmental

Tetra-μ-benzoato-κ4O:O′;κ3O:O,O′;κ3O,O′:O′-bis[(benzoato-κ2O,O′)(1,10-phenanthroline-κ2N,N′)europium(III)] benzoic acid disolvate

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2010
The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Eu2(C7H5O2)6(C12H8N2)2]·2C6H5COOH, contains one-half of the complex molecule, the complete molecule being generated by inversion symmetry, and one benzoic acid solvent molecule.

Pioneering Carboxylated Zirconium Oxo Cluster Resist for Precision Nanoscale Patterning

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study presents zirconium oxo cluster bonded with benzoic acid (Zr‐OCB) as organic–inorganic hybrid photoresist for electron beam lithography (EBL). High resolution patterns with a feature size of sub‐40 nm, a sensitivity of 1905 µC cm−2, a low line edge roughness of 3.1 nm, and excellent solution stability for up to six months are demonstrated for

In Situ Photopolymerization of Smectic B Liquid‐Crystalline Electrolytes from Mesogenic Phosphate–Diacrylate/Ionic Liquid Complexes for High‐Performance Soft Ionic Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A flexible liquid‐crystalline electrolyte membrane via in situ photopolymerization of a phosphate‐functionalized mesogen, ionic liquid, and diacrylate monomer is developed. The resulting smectic B (SmB)‐phase structure enables 2D ion transport with high conductivity (10−4 S cm−1).

Chemical preservatives in foodstuffs. V. The effect of benzoic acid on the sporulation of Bacillus megaterium

open access: yesAgricultural and Food Science, 1962
In Bacillus megaterium, benzoic acid does not inhibit the reproduction or germination of already-formed spores when the concentration of undissociated benzoic acid is 10-5-m, but it prevents the formation of new spores in this concentration.
