Direct ortho-Arylation of ortho-Substituted Benzoic Acids: Overriding Pd-Catalyzed Protodecarboxylation [PDF]
ortho-Arylation of ortho-substituted benzoic acids is a challenging process due to the tendency of the reaction products toward Pd-catalyzed protodecarboxylation.

In vitro effects of some organic acids on swine cecal microflora
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of different organic acids on bacterial growth and ammonia production by swine cecal microflora in an in vitro fermentation system. Formic, acetic, propionic, lactic, butyric, sorbic, fumaric, malic,

Conjugation of benzoic acid in marsupials [PDF]
The urinary metabolites of benzoic acid have been studied in seven marsupial species and the rat. Benzoic acid was excreted mainly as the glycine conjugate, hippuric acid, with smaller, though variable, amounts as benzoyl glucuronide. Thus the overall pattern of metabolism was similar to that found in most other mammals.

Single Electron Activation of Aryl Carboxylic Acids
Aryl carboxylic acids are stable and readily available in great structural diversity both from natural and well-established synthetic procedures, which make them promising starting materials in organic synthesis. The conversion of benzoic acids into high-

Substituent Effects on the Acidity of Weak Acids. 2. Calculated Gas-Phase Acidities of Substituted Benzoic Acids [PDF]
To investigate the origin of substituent effects on the acidity of benzoic acids, the structures of a series of substituted benzoic acids and benzoates have been calculated at the B3LYP/6-311+G* and MP2/6-311+G* theoretical levels.
