A 31-year-old man presented with a 7-year history of recurrent facial dermatitis. Until 2 years ago this had occurred in the winter only, but now was also to be seen in the summer, involving the whole face including the lips. He likened it to a pruriginous sunburn that appeared within 6– 12 h and disappeared in 48 h via desquamation.

Probing Proteomes with Benzophenone Photoprobes

Benzophenone photoprobes represent powerful tools for chemical proteomics. Upon UV irradiation, a benzophenone photoprobe can selectively form a covalent bond with its target protein in complex protein mixtures. Thus, photoprobes can be used to profile a wide variety of proteins in complex proteomes.
