The roots of Hypericum hypericoides (Clusiaceae) have yielded five prenylated benzophenone derivatives. Three of these are new: 18-hydroxy-7-epi-clusianone, 18-hydroxyclusianone, isolated as the acetate, and 18-hydroxyhyperibone K.

Regiodivergent photocyclization of dearomatized acylphloroglucinols: asymmetric syntheses of (—)-nemorosone and (—)-6-epi-garcimultiflorone A [PDF]
Regiodivergent photocyclization of dearomatized acylphloroglucinol substrates has been developed to produce type A polycyclic polyprenylated acylphloroglucinol (PPAP) derivatives using an excited-state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) process ...

Field-Amplified Sample Injection-Micellar Electrokinetic Chromatography for the Determination of Benzophenones in Food Simulants [PDF]
A field-amplified sample injection-micellar electrokinetic chromatography (FASI-MEKC) method for the determination of 14 benzophenones (BPs) in a food simulant used in migration studies of food packaging materials was developed, allowing almost baseline ...

A series of Mn(I) catalysts containing imidazole-based chiral PNN tridentate ligands with controllable "side arm" groups have been established, enabling the asymmetrical hydrogenation of unsymmetrical benzophenones with outstanding activity (up to 13 000

The use of transition‐metal catalysts and design of chiral ligands have allowed chemists to access highly functionalized benzofused 5‐ and 6‐ membered rings in high yield and enantioselectivity. A common strategy used relies on an intermolecular carbometalation across alkynes and olefins, usually followed by a subsequent intramolecular carbometalation.

Topoisomerase 1 Promoter Variants and Benefit from Irinotecan in Metastatic Colorectal Cancer Patients [PDF]
Objective: Topoisomerase 1 (topo-1) is an important target for the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC). The aim of the present study was to evaluate the correlation between topo-1 single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and clinical outcome in

Benzophenone Photosensitized DNA Damage
Although the carcinogenic potential of ultraviolet radiation is well-known, UV light may interact with DNA by direct absorption or through photosensitization by endogenous or exogenous chromophores. These chromophores can extend the "active" fraction of the solar spectrum to the UVA region and beyond, which means that photosensitizers increase the ...

Safety of benzophenone to be used as flavouring [PDF]
Benzophenone [FL-no: 07.032] has been evaluated as a flavouring substance, in FGE.69, by the EFSA Panel on Food Additives, Flavourings, Processing Aids and Materials in Contact with Food in 2008. Benzophenone was evaluated also by JECFA (2011) and by IARC (2013) based on studies that were not considered in the EFSA opinion on FGE.69.

Potassium‐Ligand Cooperation Facilitated Chemical Bond Activation and Catalytic Hydrogenation
A new strategy for alkali metal‐mediated catalysis based on metal–ligand cooperation (MLC) is presented. Potassium pincer complexes exhibit remarkable reactivity toward a range of molecules via an unprecedented potassium–ligand cooperative mechanism. This reactivity enables potassium‐catalyzed hydrogenation, providing efficient reduction of ketones and
