Catalytic Functionalization of Unactivated π‐Bonds Enabled by Bidentate Directing Auxiliaries
This review explores how bidentate directing auxiliaries have advanced transition‐metal catalysis for unactivated alkene/alkyne functionalization. By leveraging chelated intermediates, bidentate directing auxiliaries enable precise hydrofunctionalization, difunctionalization, and C─H activation of π‐bonds with unique selectivity and reactivity.

Abstract An efficient methodology to access benzoate derivatives via tandem benzylic oxidation/oxidative esterification of benzylic alcohols with phenols catalyzed by ruthenium/NHC was developed. This operationally simple one-pot process uses O 2 as the clean oxidant, producing esters in good to excellent yields.

Kinetics of oxidation of benzyl alcohol with dilute nitric acid
The oxidation of benzyl alcohol by dilute nitric acid has been selected for the study as a typical method for the manufacture of industrially important intermediate benzaldehyde. All the reactions have been performed in the absence of any solvent.

ZrO2 Aerogel‐Supported Pd Nanoparticles for Photothermal CO2 Reduction
Nanoparticle‐based aerogels are promising catalysts for photothermal reactions due to optical transparency, high surface area, and low thermal conductivity. Here, we present deposition of Pd nanoparticles on ZrO2 aerogel granules by a wet‐impregnation approach.

Catalytic Enantioselective Intramolecular Aza‐Michael Addition to α,β‐Unsaturated Esters
A general method for accessing enantioenriched saturated N‐heterocycles via a catalytic enantioselective intramolecular aza‐Michael reaction to α,β‐unsaturated esters is described. A superbasic bifunctional iminophosphorane (BIMP) catalyst was key to enabling reactivity of the high pKa sulfonamide pronucleophile, whilst delivering good to excellent ...

Tuning the Synthesis of Manganese Oxides Nanoparticles for Efficient Oxidation of Benzyl Alcohol
The liquid phase oxidation of benzyl alcohol is an important reaction for generating benzaldehyde and benzoic acid that are largely required in the perfumery and pharmaceutical industries. The current production systems suffer from either low conversion or over oxidation.
